Serving the Profession of Golf Course Architecture

Through publications, scholarships and more, the ASGCA Foundation furthers the appreciation for the profession of golf course architecture.

Wadsworth Scholars

The ASGCA Foundation, with the Wadsworth Golf Construction Company and Wadsworth Golf Charities Foundation, annually provides scholarships to two college students/post-grads who demonstrate the intent to practice golf course architecture.

Wadsworth Scholars are invited to attend the ASGCA Annual Meeting, and are awarded a $2,500 academic scholarship. To send in your application, please contact Marc Whitney at marc@asgca.org.

Living History

In 1998, the ASGCA Foundation endowed a program with Michigan State University to permanently maintain video of golf course architects. Videos can be accessed at golfarchitects.lib.msu.edu.

Today, two dozen interviews of leading golf course architects have been added to the collection.

Publications

The ASGCA Foundation has a long history of publishing works about golf course architecture. This includes the best-selling Donald Ross manuscript, “Golf Has Never Failed Me” and “Golf’s Grand Design,” a companion to the PBS documentary by the same name.
